Miryam Charles

Miryam Charles is a filmmaker and visual artist of Haitian descent based in Laval. Her practice moves between cinema and visual arts, often engaging with questions of memory, belonging, mourning, and the afterlives of historical violence. Her films have been presented at festivals throughout Québec and internationally. Her debut feature, This House, premiered at the Berlinale and went on to screen at the AFI Film Festival; it was also selected for TIFF’s Top 10 and named one of Sight and Sound’s Best Films of 2022.…
